The Latino communities across Harris County Precinct 4 are incredibly diverse. From the Panamanian neighborhoods in Brays Oaks and Mission Bend; to the thriving Columbian, Afro-Latino, and Garifuna communities in Alief; to the Mexican and Salvadoran communities in Gulfton; to our Venezuelan neighbors in Cypress and Katy; we are blessed with a rich tapestry of cultures that rivals any major city in the country.
That’s why Commissioner Lesley Briones and her team have planned several family-friendly events to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
“For my family and the tens of thousands of Latino families across the Precinct, Hispanic Heritage Month is not only a time of celebration, but also an opportunity to deepen our connections, understand each other’s stories, and listen with open hearts,” Commissioner Briones said.
